چکیده
Although restricted by a limited range of strain, the triaxial compression test is mature and common technique for investigating rheological properties rock materials at high pressures temperatures, especially when establishing constitutive equations various flow laws. The Paterson gas-medium high-pressure high-temperature mechanical testing apparatus (Paterson apparatus) best due to its stress resolution. However, derive accurate information from raw data recorded apparatus, some technical issues should be addressed, including simultaneous distortion load force supported jacketing tube, change in cross-sectional area specimen. In this paper, we introduce correction methods corresponding these three on equipped with an internal cell significantly reduce experimental errors so that high-precision laws, such as differential stress, strain rate, can obtained. To facilitate corrections determine function axial deforming tungsten steel specimens known Young’s modulus laws two materials, iron copper, experiments confining 200–300 MPa. Previous copper established Frost Ashby (1982) using ambient are carefully compared obtained study evaluate their effectiveness correcting jacket tube strength. Finally, eliminated each step analyzed discussed better understand necessity corrections.

Mechanical behavior of human morselized cancellous bone in triaxial compression testing.
Despite its widespread use as graft material in orthopaedic surgical procedures, morselized cancellous bone has not yet been well characterized from the standpoint of its mechanical properties. To accommodate the noncohesive nature of this loose particulate form of bone, a triaxial compression test apparatus commonly used in engineering soil mechanics was adapted for the testing of fresh-frozen...
متن کاملFluids at high pressures and temperatures
With high pressures, supercritical fluids can be studied over a very wide range of density. Fluids with strongly interacting polar molecules for example water are of particular interest. Results for several thermophysical properties are discussed. Density, dielectric constant and self—ionization of water have been determined or predicted to 1000 °C. Beyond 20 GPa very hot water appears to becom...
متن کاملNew phases of N2O4 at high pressures and high temperatures
High P–T studies of molecular N2O4 using Raman, synchrotron infrared, and X-ray diffraction measurements reveal several new phenomena. Significant changes in the vibrational spectra indicate a phase transition at about 12 GPa. The X-ray diffraction measurements show that the material remains cubic through the transition. We ascribe the transition to a change in the molecular geometry of N2O4 wi...
متن کاملA New Device for Mechanical Testing of Blood Vessels at Cryogenic Temperatures.
As part of an ongoing program to study the thermo-mechanical effects associated with cryopreservation via vitrification (vitreous in Latin means glassy), the current study focuses on the development of a new device for mechanical testing of blood vessels at cryogenic temperatures. This device is demonstrated on a bovine carotid artery model, permeated with the cryoprotectant cocktail VS55 and a...
